Colour'n Calendar
Illustration & Product Design
Calendars are used everyday by people around the world, but they can be wasteful, especially when they only serve the purpose of referencing the day. This desktop calendar was designed with students and working professionals in mind, providing an opportunity to take a break from work while also saving space and incorporating sustainability into the design.

The Making of Untitled

The Challenge
Create a solution that helped people and the planet. Sustainability was at the centre of this design. The frame creates a storage box for pens and pencils, and each month provides a colouring page.
This gives the calendar 3 purposes:
-
Storage
-
Date-tracking
-
Stress relief
The Process
All calendar pages were designed by hand, then brought into Adobe Illustrator to be digitized. The frame was handmade from wood to produce a high-fidelity prototype. The calendar pages were later colourized and uploaded online to provide a guide for users to follow if they desired.
Solution
The calendar is refillable, so users can buy new pages, or create their own at the end of each year. This also allows users to buy only the months they need, rather than a whole year.
Finally, the frame is made from sustainable wood, and can be used for other purposes such as pictures or other keepsakes.
